Ready, Set, Ginkgo!

Today I passed a ginkgo tree at school (see a branch at right). Its leaves have just recently come out. Since I am a particular fan of ginkgo trees, I decided to pick a leaf. Then I thought, going with the idea of nature-inspires-fashion, this leaf looks quite like a skirt... Hmm. So I scanned the leaf and photoshopped the stem out of the image. (Original leaf scan seen below)
I (D) next color-edited (brightened) the leaf, layered it on top of a croquis (sketchy dress-form for tracing) I found online, and created a digital green corset top with a mesh baby-blue-colored underlayer. The original croquis is seen at left and the final photoshopped leaf/croquis/"corset" combo is seen below.

Happy spring!
